What can be customised in a tailored game?

With eleven different types of game to choose from at Peek & Poke, there’s a huge number of elements that you can change, customise, redesign, or reimagine!

Things like integrating your company branding into the UI screens and gameplay elements, or making the game unique to your campaign by creating a brand-new game environment. 👀

You could change the player character or add new characters and character select functionality. In our Maze, Flyer, and Bouncer games, you even have the option to customise the enemies and boss. 👾

How much of the game functionality can be changed?

In addition to changing how your game looks, you can also change how it works – to a certain extent! You can do things like:

Create distinct ‘teams’ – provide dedicated champion characters to choose from before playing. Collectibles and bonuses can also be character-specific, helping to differentiate the player experience by team.
Include instant wins – these exclusive, limited prizes can only be found in the game and are released at random to the player after they submit their score.
Add voucher discounts or offer codes – reward players and encourage replays with vouchers that are tied to certain achievements or even attached to different levels of a game.
Convert digital wins into real wins – use API functionality to turn in-game achievements (such as a number of points a player earns) into loyalty points or bonuses in the real world.
Include educational content – weave this into the game in an unobtrusive way that doesn’t interrupt play with UI factoids. This could be done on level-loading screens (in multi-level games), transition screens, or even special panels at the end of the game.
Give players another chance – a life-save mechanic offers up a neat way to add educational content with a real in-game purpose.

How much does a tailored game cost?

You can tailor our games as much or as little as you want, making them suitable for a wide variety of campaigns, budgets, and briefs.

Due to the nature of our games, some are more (or less) art-intensive than others and so this may affect which one you’d like to customise (the same budget would allow you to achieve a greater branding impact with a Mega Pairs game compared to a Runner, for example).

Your custom quote will be based on your project requirements and decisions around changing the game design and functionality, as well as your campaign licence period (how long you’d like to use the game for).

How long is a tailored game licence?

Our tailored games are available for as long as you need, with the licence period reflected in your custom quote. If you’ve reached the end of the agreed licence period, there’s always the option to extend this or re-licence your game again at a later date.

What’s included in the games as standard?

All our games come with standard features and functionality such as:

Adding your brand logo to menu screens, transition screens, and in-game areas
Competition leaderboards to support data capture
Peek & Poke web hosting for the duration of your campaign licence
A performance report at the end of your campaign

What’s the process for tailoring a game?

Our friendly team of experts will work closely with you to scope out your project and ensure that the game will help you achieve your objectives. Here’s what our process looks like:

Brief & consult – Book a call and we’ll guide you through customisation options and suggest suitable games.
Quote & contract – We’ll provide a detailed quote for you to review. Once approved, we’ll draft a Project Initiation Document (PID) for your approval.
Design & build – Our team designs and develops your game, keeping you updated via Basecamp for feedback and questions.
Launch & share – When you’re happy with your game, you’ll hit the launch button to push it live and begin your campaign. Link to it from your website, share it on your social media channels, and shout about it in your newsletters!
Engage & review – Track engagement, download reports, and review your campaign performance!
