Digital Marketing Manager

Come and work with us!

Hey you, you love digital marketing right? Do you like games? How about games used for marketing? You do!? Read on…

Who are we?

Peek & Poke are a Sheffield-based digital studio making browser-based games for a variety of businesses, charities and media companies that want to promote their brand and engage with their audience in fun and interesting ways. Some well-known examples of these include: ARM, Boohoo, Coors Light, DFDS, Domino’s, EE, Greene King, IBM, JD Sports, Kellogg’s, Kwik Fit, LV=, Nickelodeon, Pringles & Sky.

We believe very strongly that these games must be first and foremost fun to play, but they also need to work hard as a marketing tool to deliver excellent return on investment for the brands that commission them. It’s our aim to deliver positive experiences for the players and lasting connections for the brands.

The games are mostly delivered online, but also offline via a range of devices for use at tradeshows or in-store (e.g. iPads, touch-screens, Arcade Machines, etc).

While we have had some steady growth over the past few years, our ongoing challenge lies in the fact that many of our target market don’t know that what we do is even a thing. That’s where you come in…

Who we’re looking for

We’re looking to hire an enthusiastic digital marketer to help us spread the word about who we are and what we do to other like-minded digital marketers, working at brands and agencies.

For this reason we need somebody who understands the challenges marketers face in their role, knows where there spend their time online and how to speak their language. Most importantly, you’ll understand which of them a game will (and won’t) work for, and use your own experience as a marketer to help the team educate them on how they can get the most from using games in their marketing.

This would be an ideal role for anyone from an in-house or agency background, as long as you’re results-oriented, motivated to drive positive change and you’ve got hands on experience of managing paid search and paid social campaigns.

As well as helping the team with general marketing activities, your main responsibility will be to develop and lead the PPC strategy and to maximise the delivery and efficiency of our paid activity. You’ll do this through the day-to-day account management of paid media channels across Google, Bing and LinkedIn.

You’ll have a passion for digital marketing with excellent communication skills and a head for numbers; meaning that you’re as comfortable researching, writing copy and designing engaging landing pages as you are experimenting and refining Google Ads campaigns. As an unashamed marketing geek you’ll know your CMSs from your CPMs, your CTRs from your CTAs, the PPCs from the… well, you get the idea.

Working as part of our small but mighty team, you’ll report to the Head of Marketing.

The role is based at our Sheffield offices, but there may be times when you’ll be required to travel to exhibitions or networking events outside your normal working hours.

  • Driving growth through developing and delivering a cohesive PPC strategy
  • Day-to-day monitoring and maintaining of all paid campaigns (Search, Display, Remarketing, LinkedIn, etc)

  • Keyword research and reporting to support the strategy for both PPC and SEO content
  • Supporting Content Marketing executive with research and planning of content & social strategies

  • An excellent understanding of modern digital / content marketing practices and the challenges faced by marketers in their roles
  • Excellent written skills with impeccable spelling, punctuation and correct use of grammar
  • Experience configuring, optimising and reporting on PPC campaigns (GoogleAds, Display, LinkedIn, Google Analytics, etc.)
  • Copywriting experience (For PPC ads, landing/product pages, etc.)
  • A pro-active self-starter mentality with superb organisational skills
  • Well-versed in word processing / spreadsheets / database / email tools
  • Experience of managing, optimising and reporting on PPC campaigns
  • An awareness of all things digital / internet related

It would also be useful (but not essential) if you had:

  • Experience with collaborative online software (Basecamp, Google Docs)
  • Experience with Blog, CMS and email tools (WordPress, Shopify, Mailchimp)
  • Experience of CRM software (Zoho)
  • Skills with image editing/processing (e.g. Photoshop or Canva)
